Cisco RMA Received – What The?

Posted by Adrian on August 3rd, 2010

Hi Everyone!

While we love selling heaps of ADSL Modems and Routers across Australia to many happy customers we do from time to time have to handle items returned under warranty.  I’ve been here for about 6 months and this is the first Cisco I’ve seen come through the doors of Warcom.

We received this beauty the other day which we have to send to our supplier to get checked and repaired.  I tried taking the best photo possible but it is difficult to convey the amount of dirt on this poor piece of hardware.  It looks like someone spent the better part of its life with it on the seat of their chair while they got their gear off and sat on it to keep warm during the winter.  After touching it to take a photo I had to wash my hands.  Twice.

A tip – anyone who has to send back an item for a repair do us all a favour and make sure you clean it before posting it on.   If I sent this straight onto the repair centre they would merely look at it and say that it is the fault of the user as opposed to a hardware issue covered under warranty.  Poor Alex is going to have to spend some time cleaning this item up before sending it on …

Very Dirty Cisco! DO NOT DO THIS!
