i have just been informed that the 2710vn does not do pstn fallover on port 1 when the power fails , port 2 does , but port 1 does not , this was an advertised feature of this model

I’ve just received word from Draytek now.

That 2710VN is still on course to arrive early March!

I am not sure whether to wait for the 2710vn to come around or go with another model. My ISP is ready to connect me up this week and I have not got a modem for it. Any further news?

Hi Paul,

I hope the 2710vn isn’t too far away either as my 7402vgp is only just hanging in there, port 2 has now died, who knows how long before the whole unit craps out and the VOIP has been ordinary for so long, when it used to be so good.

Really looking forward to using a stable and reliable modem which everyone seems to comment about.

Any news when the VoIP variant of this modem will be out and how much you’re going to sell it for?

I’m a very upset user of Billion 7404VGP-A modem. I’ve had nothing but problems with it.
Even an official from Billion has admitted they never fixed all the bugs

“The only general issue with rebooting is related to PC startup & this is being followed up by Engineers.
The only other major issue is with garbled calls & this has largely but not completely resolved with 5.53c.dg8, this is still being fine tuned by Engineers to resolve for those still experiencing this.”

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1027707&p=50 – They had gore to say “general issue” !!!! It’s a major issue that’s been around for years.

Everyone is raving about how good DrayTek modems are. Can’t wait to see it for myself.
