Meet the team: Adam!

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

At Warcom, we don’t want you to think of us as nameless people who just sell you the coolest networking gear around. Instead, we’d love for you to know that even though we sell some of the best modems, routers, and accessories around, we’re still normal people. Well, most of the time, anyway…

That being said, here’s a short look into what makes us tick.

Name and current occupation?
Adam Jones. Sales Manager and Accounts.

Why Warcom?
Challenging, Fun and Fast-paced atmosphere.

What’s your poison?
This varies a lot. At this stage…. Soccer :P

What’s your claim to fame?
Rove Live House Band 06′!

In your opinion, what is the coolest/most useful piece of tech that Warcom sells?
I’m impressed with these new Ethernet via powerpoint adapters you can get. Belkin have a popular one and Billion have a wireless one coming out soon (keep an eye out!). It basically connects to any powerpoint, from your router. You then plug the other end in where ever you need a connection and you can connect to the router via the powerpack (wirelessly with this Billion!). Crazy stuff!

Do you own an iPhone? What do you think of the device?
No I don’t. Due to peer presure, I will probably have one soon. I personally think they are overrated. Some pretty nice cases available though!

What’s in your recently played list?
Bad Medicine (obviously), The Warcom Theme song. Other than that a bit of Cartel, Quietdrive, SR-71, Dashboard Confessional and Paramore.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Soccer, Gaming, Stuffing round with cars/bikes, Tunes (Music), Ice-Cream (eating it)

If you could run Warcom for a day, what would you change?
I’d probably change the colour scheme to shade of Green. Otherwise Paul runs a pretty efficient system.

Favourite Warcom employee and why?
This is a sus question. Kinda like choosing a favourite child or something. In any case I’ll go with myself, Adam.

If there was something you’d change about the technology industry today, what would it be?
I’d be after less suppliers and better profit margins, ultimately.

Thanks Adam! If you’ve got any follow-up questions (personally I’d love to know what the Warcom theme song is…), we’d love to hear them in the comments below!

Warcom will no longer be maintaining a presence on Whirlpool.net.au

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Time to pull the plug..

In an effort to devote more time to our more loyal and valued customers, please be advised that effectively immediately all Warcom staff members; including our managing director Paul Warren will no longer be answering  questions or comments pertaining to Warcom posted on the Whirlpool forums.

————–

Warcom has it’s own customer support forum located here: http://warcom.com.au/forums

We can be reached via phone on 1300 927 266 (Warcom) or 03 8339 0011 from 10:00am to 6:00pm daily. (wait times may vary subject to call loads)

And we can also reached via email at http://warcom.com.au/support

————–

Why have we made this choice?

Several years ago the Whirlpool forums were known as “The number one forum in Australia” where companies could communicate and interact with both with customers and IT professionals.

However, given the communities drastic decline in quality contributors, the abuse and the targeted slanderous comments, we have no choice but to remove our presence from whirlpool.

A vocal minority of Whirlpool members seem to believe it’s perfectly fine to jump up and down in order to get what they want by using the Whirlpool forums, and as the moderation and admin team condone this behavior we have no choice, but to no longer answer any Warcom related questions at all on the Whirlpool forums.

Therefore, moving forward — If you wish to resolve issues with Warcom,  we welcome you to please contact us via the previously mentioned means or contact Warcom management via feedback@warcom.com.au

We welcome comments on this article and look forward to continuing to serve our outstanding customer database of (50,000+) that we have built up over the last ten years of being in business.

Sincerely,
Paul Warren.

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Warcom is now back after a well earned Christmas New Year break, and all awaiting orders are flying out the door.

Please be patient though, as we are still on skeleton staff, and some of our suppliers have not come back from holidays yet.

We expect to be up to full speed by the end of this week.

Hoping that one and all had a fantastic Christmas, and a spectacular New Years, and that 2009 will be bigger and better than ever.

Paying by Credit Card Over the Phone/Online.

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Every day, we have a massive number of our customers who choose their Credit Card as their preferred payment method. Some customers choose pick-up rather than delivery, and then, what amazes us, is that they send someone else out, with their credit card and and their PIN, and believes that this is a safer way of doing online transactions.

While these transactions are the minority, I wanted to ensure that all our customers realised that Warcom uses a 100% Secure Server, with the strongest and latest SSL security, to protect your Credit Card information during your transaction. Your details are not stored on our system, and must be entered for each specific order for pick-up.

What does Warcom need to fix?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Give us your input : How can Warcom serve you better?

It has become embarrassingly obvious, that while we here at Warcom have been concentrating on building a better mousetrap, we have dropped the ball in respects to our attention to customer service. Whilst things like this are often difficult to admit to, we cannot address these issues or concerns, without the feedback and input from the most important voices of all: our valued customers.

Identify the things that really annoy you, and things that we could do better.
The more input we get, the more changes we can make. I am sure you understand that every business must change to best meet the needs of its customers. So here is your chance to have your say, and make a huge difference in how things are done.
