The Apple iPhone 5 is here… Well it will be TODAY!

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

Word on the street is that the Apple iPhone 5 is set to be released today and Wall street analysts are already predicting the new iPhone to “shatter” sales records.

We still have a few hours before the American’s wake up to release the new iPhone, so we are still left guessing until this evening.

What can we expect from this new iPhone?
Well a few things are clear from previous iPhone releases:

  • Faster CPU
  • Better camera’s
  • Higher res screen
  • More internal storage
  • and finally an iOS update.. Finally iOS5 will be here!

The main rumour with the iPhone 5 is the major redesign on the unit it’s self. Personally im not sold on this as I quite like the iPhone 4 feel.

It’s almost certain that the Apple iPhone 5 will have a 4″ screen as leaked by the guys at iDeals in China. But how they fit this to the phone is a different story. Bigger phone? Or less wasted real estate on the phone it’s self?

Other rumours include the Apple iPhone 5 featuring a thinner body, NO home button, NO 4G and NO NFC (Near Field Communication, used for things like Google Shopping).

It would have been nice to see 4G as Telstra has confirmed that their 4G network is on the way! And from what I understand Optus is planning to finally upgrade that snail network. The NFC would have also been pretty cool, you can use NFC to access Paypass and Paywave on enabled EFTPOS machines like you see at almost every servo now days (and it’s growing with other places as well).

From what I have read and what I think is most logical, is to stick with the iPhone 4 form factor and incorporate a larger screen onto it. The best example of what I think the Apple iPhone 5 will look like is:

Paying by Credit Card Over the Phone/Online.

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

Every day, we have a massive number of our customers who choose their Credit Card as their preferred payment method. Some customers choose pick-up rather than delivery, and then, what amazes us, is that they send someone else out, with their credit card and and their PIN, and believes that this is a safer way of doing online transactions.

While these transactions are the minority, I wanted to ensure that all our customers realised that Warcom uses a 100% Secure Server, with the strongest and latest SSL security, to protect your Credit Card information during your transaction. Your details are not stored on our system, and must be entered for each specific order for pick-up.
