Windows 8 password management software

Windows 8 will be coming with password management software, allowing you to think less and do more because as the world is moving online you’ll have passwords for work, shopping banking, forums and everything in between making the I forgot my password button a common thing, but not anymore!

Windows 8 password management softwareWindows 8 making Password Management simple!

How does it work?

It’s quite simple really,  all you have to do is sign in with one master password and the app logs you into everything, you’ll need to save the passwords into the software first for this to happen and that’s about it! No need to remember how many symbols and alphanumeric codes you’ve used. No need to remember 312 different passwords! All you need to remember is your Live password and Microsoft will handle the rest for you, it’s like magic!

Microsoft tries to make it sound a bit more fancy: “When you store credentials in conjunction with signing in to Windows with your Windows Live ID, Windows enables you to set your password for each account to something that is both complex and unique; since Windows 8 will automatically submit the credential on your behalf, you’ll never need to remember it yourself. If you need to see the actual password at some point later, you can view it in the credential manager shown here, from any of your Trusted PCs.”

There’s other services like 1Password and LastPass which do the same  thing, but I guess Microsoft providing the service for you on the OS is a nice gesture.

Personally, I would never use Password management software myself, as I don’t like being hijacked, the only passwords that I have saved are my Facebook, work and gmail and that’s through the web browser, and Facebook being my homepage and it opens up “Update my status”….That never ends well. (windows + L)

That’s just my view on Password management, some will see it as a life saver, others will see it as a way to make their job easier. (hackerz)

Happy memories!
